Children experience Science
The Museum offers a range of exciting programs that bring science to life for school children throughout the greater Houston area. The Museum offers the following programs for children and families:
Instructional field trips to the Houston Museum of Natural Science have been an integral part of the school curriculum for fourth and seventh grade students in the Houston Independent School District since the 1950's. Children also enjoy participating in our weekday Interactive Science Labs, Scout programs, and special weekend events. Spend a day with your child at the Museum and enjoy an educational, fun-filled experience they won't forget!
The Museum's special exhibitions often include an Xploration Station designed just for kids. Kids enjoy activities that expand on the artifacts and information featured in the exhibit.
Houston Wilderness Passport
Houston Wilderness Passport
The goal of the Houston Wilderness Passport program is to encourage both school and family “field trips” to encompass the rich wilderness we can find in our own backyard. HMNS is one of nearly 40 nature centers, parks and preserves participating as a Passport sticker site within the nine ecoregions in the Houston area. Please visit www.houstonwilderness.org for more information about the Passport program, or better yet, come by Museum Services on your next visit to HMNS and pick up your very own Passport and parent guide to start your adventure!
