Bringing a group to HMNS or HMNS Sugar Land? Explore science, nature and history in our interactive science labs which feature specimens, artifacts and laboratory equipment.
Each lab lasts one hour and accommodates up to 25 students. Labs cost range between $165 per lab and $200 (for Dissection Lab*) and include admission to the Museum’s Permanent Exhibit Halls.

- Renewable Energy (October at HMNS) – Discover the many forms of renewable energy at our fingertips. In this class, students will learn about forms of alternative energy and discuss which are better suited to where we live!
- Fossil Fuels (February at HMNS and February 23rd in Sugar Land) – Dig into fossil fuels! Explore fossil fuel formation, and dis-cuss the characteristics of these nonrenewable resources.
- Petroleum Production (April at HMNS) – Journey through the processes that transform petroleum into its many products. Dis-cover everyday items that come from this fossil fuel.
- Discover Maps! (May at HMNS and May 25th in Sugar Land) – Learn about latitude, longitude and cartography in this class all about maps!
