Private Late Night at the Museum

Tiptoe through the exhibits after hours with a Late Night at HMNS.  Your evening includes a pizza dinner, a scavenger hunt in one of the exhibition halls, a hands-on activity with museum educators and a show in the Burke Baker Planetarium! Upgrade your Late Night to include one of our outreach programs for only $200.

Sleuths and Secrets 

Are you good at solving mysteries? Can you untangle a web of clues, evidence, history and mystery? Are you looking for an out-of-the-ordinary adventure? Then HMNS Sleuths & Secrets is for you!

It all starts when you unlock a series of clues, riddles and objects found in the Cabinet of Curiosities as you try to locate an alchemist’s treasure. Sleuths and Secrets is only available at the Hermann Park location.

  • Duration: 6-7:30 p.m.
  • Capacity: 10 to 14 Participants

Expedition Center Mission

After successfully operating a base on the Moon, called New Tranquility Base, the time has come for the United States to send a group of scientists to the planet Mars. Are you up for the challenge?

The expedition has two phases. During Phase One, the New Tranquility Base lunar colonists must act as Mission Control to bring their replacements from Earth orbit to the Moon for a crew exchange. Phase Two begins with new mission controllers and new astronauts ready to begin the journey to Mars. Along the way, astronauts must complete experiments and make certain the ship is functioning properly. Expedition Center Missions are available at the Hermann Park and George Observatory locations.

  • Duration: 1 to 2.5 Hours (Depending on the Mission)
  • Capacity: 12 to 40 Participants (Depending on the Mission)

Behind the Scenes Tour 

There is more than meets the eye in the museum’s exhibition halls. Join us Behind-the-Scenes to delve deeper into the displays with your group on a personal tour of your favorite exhibit! Can’t pick just one?  We can take you on a tour of all the highlights too!

  • Duration: 1 to 1.5 Hours
  • Capacity: Up to 25 people. If you have a larger group, we can discuss your options!
  • Pricing: $625 for any one Permanent Exhibit Hall. $1000 for a Special Exhibit.

Museum Scavenger Hunt

The museum wide Scavenger Hunt gets teams moving in and around exhibits as they work together to find and identify objects based on written clues. The clues are written for adult level learning and require advanced problem solving skills.

Crime Scene Investigation

Delve into the world of forensics. Learn the techniques crime scene investigators use to collect and examine evidence. These hands-on experiences give your group the opportunity to perform various techniques for collecting and examining physical evidence used in the field and lab to illuminate what happened and point to who did it. Select from the following topics for your investigation: Bloodstain Pattern Analysis, Fingerprinting, Basic Osteology or Analysis of Skeletal Trauma
