Earth Science Week Open House
Family Festival
Saturday, October 9, 11:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Free with admission to the Permanent Exhibit halls

To kick off National Earth Science Week, families are invited to join us for the Earth Science Family Festival at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Scientists and engineers specializing in all types of earth sciences will be the Museum’s Wiess Energy Hall, the Paleo Hall, and the Cullen Hall of Gems & Minerals. There will be plenty of fun facts and activities to help you earn your badges.

Cub Scouts can earn their Geology Belt Loops and Pins at the Earth Science Week Family Festival. Instead of a classroom format, this event fills the exhibit halls with scientists and engineers in the earth science and energy fields. Bring the whole family for crafts and learning from the experts. As Cub Scouts visit the booths and do the activities, they will be able to fulfill their Geology requirements. NOTE: This event is “Open House” style – it may take up to 2 hours to complete the activities.

To participate, purchase general exhibit hall tickets online or at the box office on the day of the event.
