Cub Scouts and Webelos


These classes will complete Adventures for current Cub Scouts and Webelos. There are three available classes for Webelos, two for Bear Cub Scouts, one for Tiger Cub Scouts and two for Wolf Cub Scouts. Each class will complete five Adventures.

Scouts@HMNS is proud to offer two Adventures that are required by the Boy Scouts of America! These are denoted with an asterisk (*). In addition, several more Adventures are required for Webelos looking to earn a Nova Award, and these are denoted with a caret (^).

Wayfaring Webelos(HMNS)
(June 15-19, July 6-10 and July 27-31)
(Build It, First Responder**, Game Design, Tech Talk Nova Award and Webelos Walkabout**) ** Required Webelo Adventures.
Become certified in First Aid; how to prepare for a hike, explore game design and earn a stem nova.
A field trip around the museum area is included (Field Trip Permission Form required).

All about Webelos(HMNS)(Sugar Land)
(June 15-19, July 6-10 and July 20-24 in Sugar Land)
(Art Explosion, Aware & Care, Build a Better World*, Looking Back, Looking Forward and Moviemaking) * Arrow of Light requirement.
Learn about challenges that other people face, how to be a good citizen, and explore movie making and scouting history.

Webelos Science Explorers(HMNS) (Sugar Land)
(June 8-12 in Sugar Land, June 15-19 and July 6-10)
(Adventures in Science, Earth Rocks, Engineer, Into the Wild, and Into the Woods)
Learn the history of science, how to conduct experiments, and how to design and build devices such as a catapult.
A field trip around the museum area is included (Field Trip Permission Form required).

Bear Facts (Hermann Park)
(June 15-19 and July 27-31)
(Paws for Action*, A World of Sound, Beat of the Drum, Make it Move and Super Science)
Learn about American History and discover the crafts, music and dancing of Native Americans. Explore density, static electricity, simple machines and sound, then make your own instruments and music.
A field trip around the museum area is included (Field Trip Permission Form required). Prerequisite: display the American Flag at home for 1 month.

Bear Sleuths (Five Day Class – Hermann Park) & (Four Day Class – Sugar Land)
(July 6-10, June 29-July 2 in Sugar Land, and July 27-31)
(Fur, Feathers, and Ferns, Forensics, Marble Madness, Critter Care,
and Robotics)
Investigate the world of animals, insects, and plants. Learn about laughter, play with marbles, and discover the science of robotics and crime investigation.
A field trip around the museum area is included (Field Trip Permission Form required).

Terrific Tigers(HMNS)
(July 6-10)
(Tigers in the Wild*, Good Knight, Stories in Shapes, Sky is the Limit, and Tigger Tales)
* Required Tiger Adventures.
Learn the essentials for a hike, and community citizenship. Explore art, the sky and tall tales.
A field trip around the museum area is included (Field Trip Permission Form required).

Wolf Pack (HMNS)
(July 6-10 and July 27-31)
(Adventures in Coins, Air of the Wolf, Code of the Wolf, Cubs Who Care, and Finding Your Way)
Learn about the physical properties of the air we breathe and about coins and their markings. Discover how to read a map and its symbols, how we use math in our daily lives, and how people meet the challenge of a physical disability.
A field trip around the museum area is included(Field Trip Permission Form required).

Wolf Tracks(HMNS)
(July 6-10 and July 27-31)
(Call of the Wild*, Council Fire (Duty to Country)*, Paws on the Path*, Digging in the Past, and Motor Away)
*Required Wolf Adventures.
Learn about the Outdoor Code, the community you live in, and how to “Be Prepared” for outdoor adventures. Explore the past in the Moran Hall of Paleontology and discover and the physical properties of propulsion.
