Girl Scouts


Girl Scout summer classes are for girls in grades 2 and up and provide an interactive and fun look into scientific fields. One class is specifically written for Daisies (K through 1st grade), two classes are written specifically for Brownies (2nd and 3rd grade), three are for Juniors (4th and 5th grade), one is for Cadettes (6th through 8th grade) and one is for Seniors (9th and 10th grade). Note: Badges completed indicated in parenthesis.

  • Bionic Brownies (HMNS)
    (June 17-21, July 8-12, and July 29-August 2)
    (Think like a Programmer Journey, Programming Robots badge, Designing Robots badge and Showcasing Robots badge)
    Brownies will explore robots and learn how program can solve problems, complete a Take Action Project at the museum and earn their Robotics badges.
  • Breathe Journey (One Day Class) (Sugar Land)
    (Monday, August 12 in Sugar Land)
    (Breathe Journey)
    Girls will work on their Breathe Journey awards and create a take action project to share with others.   Bring a sack lunch, Chick-fil-a will not be offered.
  • Cyber Brownies (HMNS) (Sugar Land)
    (June 10-14 in Sugar Land, June 17-21, July 8-12, and July 29-August 2)
    (Cybersecurity Basics, Cybersecurity Safeguards, Cybersecurity Investigator, Computer Expert and Household Elf)
    Brownies will explore cybersecurity safety, computer programs and being green with their environment.
  • Cadette Career Carousel (HMNS) (Sugar Land)
    (July 8-12 and July 22-26 in Sugar Land)
    (Comic book artist, First Aid, New Cuisines Badge, Screenwriter, and Special Agent)
    Cadettes will discover the world of comics from newspapers to graphic novels, culinary dishes from around the world, the twists and plots of a screenwriter.  Explore the world of Forensic Science and Criminal Psychology, while becoming certified in Red Cross First Aid and CPR.
  • Cadette Coder (HMNS)
    (June 17-21 and July 29-August 2)
    (Think like a Programmer Journey, Programming Robots badge, Designing Robots badge and Showcasing Robots badge)
    Cadettes will explore how robots work, programmers solve problems, and complete a Take Action Project at the museum.
  • Designing Daisies (HMNS)
    (July 8-12)
    (Think like an Engineer Journey, Model Car Design Challenge, Roller Coaster Design Challenge and Board Game Design Challenge)
    Daisies will design a model car, roller coaster and a board game.  Earn their Think like an engineer journey and do their complete their Take Action project, while at the museum.
  • Junior Tech (HMNS)
    (July 8-12)
    (Cybersecurity Basics, Cybersecurity Safeguards, Cybersecurity Investigator, Entertainment Technology, and Space Science Investigator)
    Juniors will investigate computer safety, cybercrime, technology used in entertainment and the earth, sun and stars.
  • Mechanical Juniors (HMNS) (Sugar Land)
    (June 10-14 in Sugar Land, June 17-21, and July 29-Augst 2)
    (Think like an Engineer Journey, Balloon Car Design Challenge, Crane Design Challenge and Paddle Boat Design Challenge)
    Juniors will explore the engineering process, while designing a balloon car, crane and a paddle boat.  Girls will earn there Think like an Engineer journey and do their Take Action Project at the museum.
