The Museum offers weeklong classes for scouts in the summer. This year’s Summer Scouts program is offering the following classes:
BOY SCOUT CLASSES: All About Cars (Auto Maintenance and Traffic Safety), Planes, Trains, and Submarines (Aviation, Railroading, and Oceanography badges) Citizenship (Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the World badges), Citizenship in the Community (Eagle), Digital World (Digital Technology and Programming), Environmental Science (Eagle), Law and Order (Crime Prevention, Fingerprinting, and Law badges), The Environment (Environmental Science and Soil & Water Conservation badges), That’s Entertainment! (Animation, Movie Making, and Radio), Designing Your World (Architecture and Landscape Architecture), The Power of Engineering (Electricity, Engineering, and Nuclear Science badges), Space Exploration (STEM Nova), Strategy and Exploration (Chess, Game Design, and Geocaching), Robot Inventor (Robotics and Inventing badges), The Final Frontier (Astronomy and Space Exploration), Be Prepared (Emergency Preparedness, First Aid, Fire Safety, and Safety), Captured Light (Art, Graphics Arts, and Photography), Code Talkers (Communication and Signs, Signals, and Codes), Nature and More (Bird Study, Mammal Study, and Nature), and Your Community and Heritage (American Heritage, Citizenship in the Community, and Genealogy badges).
WEBELOS CLASSES: Webelos Science Explorer (Adventures in Science, Earth Rocks, Engineer, Into the Wild, and Into the Woods) and Webelos World Pioneer (Aware & Care, Build a Better World, Build It, First Responder, and Webelos Walkabout)
BEAR CUBS CLASS: Bear Necessities (Fur, Feathers, and Ferns, Forensics, Marble Madness, Roaring Laughter, and Robotics)
WOLF CUB CLASS: Wolf Pack (Adventures in Coins, Air of the Wolf, Code of the Wolf, Cubs Who Care, and Finding Your Way)
GIRL SCOUTS CLASSES: Brownies on the Go! (Celebrating Community, My Family Story, Hiker, Computer Expert, and Letterboxer), Junior Journeys (Junior Agent of Change and Get Moving Journeys), Cadette Journeys (Cadettes MEdia and Amaze Journeys), and Senior Journeys (Sow What? and GIRLtopia Journeys).
Scout Permission Form
PLEASE NOTE – Scouts will not be allowed to participate in field trips without a completed Permission Slip.
NO REFUNDS will be processed for activities missed due to a missing Permission Slip.
REQUIRED HEALTH RECORD FORM FOR ALL SCOUTS
A completed HMNS Scout Health Record Form or a BSA Part B Health form must be on file with the Scout Office prior to each scout beginning class. If a scout is participating in more than one week of class, the Scout Health Record Form must be submitted for the first class, but duplicate copies are not needed for the following classes.
- Complete the Scout Health Record Form, available here and within the information document for each class.
- Completed Scout Health Record Forms must be brought on the first day of class, faxed to 713-639-4681, emailed as an attachment to email@example.com, OR mailed or dropped off to:

McDonald’s Lunch Order Form
Parents can order lunch for Scouts enrolled in Summer Scout Classes. Orders can be placed on Monday mornings before 10:30 am at the McDonalds in the Grand Hall of the Museum. Orders must be pre-paid by the parent. Scout’s will not be released to purchase lunch on their own. Lunch orders will be delivered to Scouts at 11:30 am. Access the order form here.
