A terrible lizard has taken up residence in The Woodlands Mall, along with 14 other prehistoric beasts and a multitude of science exhibits at The Woodlands Xploration Station, the Museum's new satellite educational facility.

Meet a full-size Tyrannosaurus rex, crouched over a “dig pit” where you can discover dinosaur bones; walk among dinosaurs and other ancient creatures in a new paleontology exhibit featuring full-size specimens, including an authentic fossilized Ichthyosaur, an ancient marine reptile; marvel at vibrant, multi-ton geodes in an exhibit on mineralogy; discover animal species from around the world; and navigate an interactive Woodlands maze that introduces visitors to local plant and animal life.

Gift certificates for the dig pit are now available in the gift shop. Gift certificates are $5, are not redeemable for cash, and are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase.

Field Trips The Xploration Station is now offering affordable field trips to our local schools. With $5.00 ticket prices for children and chaperones, this is not something to miss out on! Added tickets to the dig pit will be discounted for groups of 20 or more. We are currently offering school tours for these exhibits:

Directions
Directions from Houston to HMNS Xploration Station
- Take 45 North to 76B, Woodlands Parkway.
- Exit at Woodlands Parkway and follow exit over Hwy 45.
- At first light, take a right onto Woodloch Forest Drive.
- Follow Woodloch Forest Drive until you come to a T-junction. The Mall will be directly in front of you.
- Turn left at the T-juction and take an immediate right after the Cheesecake Factory.
- If you are a school group:
Please pull up to the blacked out windows and you will be met at the curb.
- If you are not a school group:
Park in any open lot. Enter the mall and go to the lower level. The Xploration Station is located between Macy’s and the food court and is across from Sears
