Red Peacock Butterfly
Anartia amathea
In its native South America this attractive little butterfly is common in open, weedy areas. Here in the Butterfly Center it frequents the hottest, driest spots, so you’ll see it in the meadow area or along the stairway to the third level. It is related to our native buckeye butterfly.
