Space Suit

This exhibition is temporarily closed through August.

The area surrounding the Earth Forum and Challenger Learning Center houses artifacts of the early space program. The Mercury capsule flew on an unmanned mission into space. Nearby, a model of astronaut Edward H. White is shown on America’s first spacewalk from the Gemini IV spacecraft in Earth orbit. Near the Challenger Learning Center are two training suits from the Apollo program as well as a cart of tools that astronauts used to practice on Earth for rock collecting on the Moon.
