Now in its 55th year, the world-renowned exhibition Wildlife Photographer of the Year returns to HMNS, featuring exceptional images which capture fascinating animal behavior, spectacular species and the breathtaking diversity of the natural world. This year’s competition attracted over 48,000 entries from professionals and amateurs across 100 countries.

The exhibition sparks curiosity about the natural world through its showcase of the Earth’s extraordinary biodiversity and highlighting its increasing fragility. Using the unique emotive power of photography, the competition inspires people to think differently about their relationship with nature and become advocates for the planet.

Included with permanent exhibit hall admission.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year is developed and produced by the Natural History Museum, London.

Please help us to preserve our collections for the next generation by not using flash when taking personal pictures at HMNS and at HMNS Sugar Land. Exposure to strong lights over time causes fading and deterioration of most artifacts and specimens.

Flash photography is ONLY allowed in the Grand Hall and the rainforest of the Cockrell Butterfly Center.

Selfie sticks are not allowed anywhere in HMNS, HMNS Sugar Land and the George Observatory.

For press and any commercial photo shoots, please contact the Public Relations dept.
