Opens Friday, June 15

Friday, June 15 -
Sunday, September 9, 2007
Hall of the Americas

Kazakhstan is a country at the crossroads of nomadic populations and traveling merchants for centuries.  Of Gold and Grass:  Nomads of Kazakhstan provides a unique opportunity to receive a personal introduction to the fascinating history and culture of the peoples who lived on the territory of present-day Kazakhstan many centuries ago.  The exhibition features outstanding archeological finds that include original pieces from the costume of the Golden Warrior and the most recent discoveries from Berel.

The exhibition is organized by the Foundation for International Arts and Education, Bethesda, Maryland, and is presented in conjunction with the Government of Kazakhstan and Mingei International Museum. It is sponsored by Shell Oil Company.
