An image of the moon captured through a telescope while stargazing.

See where man first stepped on the Moon!

This year marks 50 years since human beings reached for the stars and landed on the Moon. The Apollo 11 crew were the first people to step foot on its surface after landing on Mare Tranquillitatis (The Sea of Tranquility). Explore the landing site, lunar plains, mountain ranges, cliffs, craters, and more with the George Observatory.  All of our telescopes will point to the Moon.

Deck tickets required: $10 adults, $9 children (ages 5-12), $7 HMNS members

Because stargazing is weather dependent, tickets may only be purchased in-person. In the event of overcast skies, tours and talks by our expert astronomers are still available.
