Support HMNS and Foster Environmental Stewardship
The Papilio Society was formed to promote a greater appreciation for the natural world and to foster environmental stewardship by advancing and supporting the activities of the Museum’s Cockrell Butterfly Center.
When it opened in 1994, the Cockrell Butterfly Center was the U.S.’s fourth such facility. Today, it is one of the best-recognized and well-attended indoor butterfly and horticultural facilities in the nation.
Through the annual gifts of its patrons, the Papilio Society provides unrestricted support for the activities, education programs, collections and scholarship of the Butterfly Center.
Join Us!You are invited to join this group of like-minded individuals who share interests in gardening, the outdoors, butterflies and garden insects, and preservation of our natural heritage. Events include lectures, tours of beautiful homes and gardens, the annual Butterfly Flutter event, and much more.
