Saturday Scouts Classes
Why choose HMNS?
Scouts will use museum’s resources, explore exhibit halls and conduct hands on experiments in working to complete all BSA Merit badge requirements. Our classes are taught by are experts and professionals in their field. Our goal is for all Scouts to gain the greatest understanding possible of their badge subject upon full completion of the class.
Reptiles & Amphibians
9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (Except off site classes)
*All Classes are 5 hours including a 40 min lunch break
$25 per Scout
Archeology $35 per Scout
Those attending should bring a lunch or can arrange for McDonalds’s delivery (located in the museum). Scouts will not be able to leave to purchase lunch.
*Please be advised that several of the classes DO NOT meet at the Museum. Therefore McDonald’s orders will not be available for offsite classes.
Scouts@HMNS has an open door policy - parents and Troop leaders are welcomed to stay and sit in on any class. Parents or leaders are Required for all Outdoor Classes.
Scouts should wear their Class A uniforms to classes held at the Museum, but we strongly encourage the use of Class B uniforms for the outdoor classes.
OUTSIDE REQUIREMENTS AND CLASS LOCATIONS. PLEASE READ! Merit badges may require additional activities before or after the class at the Museum, or the class may meet off site. Please review the document links below and select the one that matches the Badge you are seeking.
Archeology Merit Badge is also available at the Museum’s Sugar Land location.
