Explore an unparalleled array of geological wonders
Massive amethyst and citrine geodes taller than a person, jammed with gleaming purple and golden crystals, are displayed among an array of huge mineral specimens, intricately crystallized slices of petrified wood, and an incredible collection of fossils.
Explore some of Mother Nature’s most surprising wonders as you step into a cave illuminated by the rainbow-colored glow from fluorescent minerals in every size and color, including Willemite, Franklinite, Calcite and Esperite from the Franklin-Sterling Hill Mining District in New Jersey, known as the Fluorescent Mineral Capital of the World. The best and brightest fluorescent minerals in the world are found in this area.
Admission to see this exhibit is included in general admission to the Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land.
