Saturday Merit badge Classes
Why choose HMNS?
All Merit Badge classes at HMNS will complete 100% of the badge. (Some classes have online prerequisite homework instructions and worksheets.) Scouts will use the Museum’s resources, explore Exhibit Halls and conduct hands on experiments while working with experts and professionals in their fields. Our goal is for all Scouts to gain the greatest understanding possible of the badge subject upon completion of the class, and to help scouts complete all requirements of the badge. (See the document “I Need to Know… ‘What Does a Class is Purchased, but a Badge is Earned’ Mean?)
HMNS Sugar Land offers the Archeology, Chemistry and Energy Merit Badges in one-day Saturday classes. Classes are from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM with a 45 minute lunch break (times vary for off-site field classes)..
Scouts@HMNS has an open door policy - parents and Troop leaders are welcomed to stay and sit in on any class, but it is not required. Parents or leaders are required for all off-site field class
PLEASE READ THE IMPORTANT INFORMATION DOCUMENTS BELOW BEFORE REGISTERING FOR A CLASS. They contain information about the class location and outside homework. There are also several documents with very helpful information including where to park, what to do when you arrive at the Museum, and refund policy at the Scouts@HMNS Program Information page.
