The Nature of Pearls
 

The Nature of Pearls was on display at the Houston Museum of natural Science from Sept. 27, 2003 through Jan. 18, 2004

Formed in the dark of mollusk shells, pearls glow with an inner radiance.  This spectacular exhibit featured the most comprehensive presentation ever mounted on pearls:  weaving science, art, literature, history and fabulous jewelry into the story of pearl-forming mollusks, part of the most diverse animal phyla on Earth.  Organized by American Museum of Natural History, New York, in collaboration with The Field Museum, Chicago.
