Summer Scout Academy

Scouts can earn a array of merit badges - including up to 3 eagle-required badges - during weeklong summer classes at HMNS Sugar Land!

Each class meets from 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 pm at the Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land for one week. Summer Scout classes are also offered at the Houston Museum of Natural Science downtown.

All classes are targeted to fulfill the requirements of the badges outlined by Boy Scouts of America. Merit Badge classes are taught by counselors registered with BSA.

Before registering for Merit Badge classes, review the Important Information sheet for the class.  This document includes registration process, class information, frequently asked questions and other important information.

Important Information

These documents must be reviewed before registering for a Scouts@HMNS class during the summer.  Each document will include a class description, registration process, frequently asked questions, special instructions and required health forms.

Eagle Required Badges - Information for Leaders
