Summer Scout Academy

REGISTRATION BEGINS FEBRUARY 19th 

The Museum’s Summer Scout Academy will offer 28 different merit badges– including 4 Eagle rank required merit badges, and 5 Webelos Activity Badges during weeklong summer scout classes at HMNS!

Each class meets from 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Cost is $195 members / $225 non-members. (Classes with extended field trips are $215/$245.) Early drop-off and late pick-up is available.

Classes are designed to fulfill 100% of the requirements outlined by Boy Scouts of America for merit badges and Webelos activity badges. Merit Badge classes are taught by counselors registered with BSA.

Review the information documents below before registering for a Summer Scout Academy class. Each document includes a class description, registration process, frequently asked questions, special instructions, field trip information & permission slips, and required health forms. Some classes have abnormal drop-off and pick-up time on field trip days, and a few have outside work to be done.

Please note: the new adventure badges program starts June 1st. Packs will decide if boys will keep working on the traditional activity badges or if they will start the adventure badge program. The badge sets will be awarded depending on what each boy's pack decides.
