Getting to HMNS

HMNS is located in Hermann Park across the street from Miller Outdoor Theater with close proximity to Highways 59, 288 and the 610 Loop. Depending on your point of origination, the following directions should make getting here much easier.

Parking
Parking is available in our 6-story garage located on Caroline, just south of Hermann Drive. Parking is just $5 for museum members, $8 for nonmembers with Museum ticket stub and $10 for all others. In addition, some curbside parking is available near the Museum entrance and in Hermann Park.

On weekends additional parking is available at Park Plaza Garage at the corner of Caroline and Ewing Street, one block north of HMNS. Rates range from $3 (minimum) to $8 (maximum).

Ride METRO Light Rail
Take advantage of the convenience of METRO's Light Rail. The "Museum District" rail stop is only three blocks from the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Click here for Metro Rail map and schedule.

From Highway 59

If coming from the North on 59:

Exit Fannin and continue south on Fannin.
Turn left onto Binz or Ewing.
Turn right on Caroline.
The Museum will be located on the right hand side.

If coming from the Southwest on 59:

Exit Main and continue East.
Turn right at the second light onto Fannin and continue south on Fannin.
Turn left onto Binz or Ewing.
Turn right onto Caroline.
The Museum will be located on the right hand side.

From Highway 288

If coming from the North on 288:

Exit Binz/Calumet.
At the second light, turn right onto Binz. Continue on Binz.
Turn left onto Caroline. Continue on Caroline.
The Museum's parking garage will be located on the right.

If coming from the South on 288:

Exit MacGregor.
Go west on N. MacGregor Way.
Turn right onto N. MacGregor Drive.
Turn right onto Golf Course Drive.
Continue on Golf Course Drive past the Houston Zoo, and the Museum will be on the right.
Turn right onto Caroline for the parking garage.

From South Loop 610 or the Medical Center

If coming from South Loop 610 or the Medical Center:

Use Fannin or Main heading north.
Turn right onto Montrose.
You will go past the Sam Houston statue and onto Golf Course Drive.
The Museum will be located on the left hand side. Turn left onto Caroline for the Museum’s parking garage.
