Butterflies
Over 100 species of exotic butterfly call the Cockrell Butterfly Center home. These beauties are imported in their chrysalis stage from farms in tropical countries around the world – El Salvador, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Suriname in the New World, and Malaysia and the Philippines in Asia. We import about 1000 butterflies a week, to maintain about 1500-2000 butterflies flying in the Center.
