Shark Week, smark week. We have four T. rexes with a bone to pick. Stan, Bucky, Wyrex and Victoria have banded together and who are we to stop them?
The Houston Museum of Natural Science presents T. rex Week, July 9 – 18.
Celebrate this Cretaceous event at both our Hermann Park or Sugar Land locations, and via our virtual platforms with live art, games and education for all. It’s a party of prehistoric proportions and you’re invited.
NOW OPEN: Victoria: The T. rex
Admission included with a permanent exhibition ticket.
Celebrate T. rex Week with the world’s largest and most complete touring skeleton – Victoria! Discovered in September 2019, she is the most complete Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton touring the world. The all-new, state-of-the-art exhibition is open to visitors of all ages and explores every facet of Victoria’s life and death, including the unusual battle scars that may have led to her death, and her role as a mother.
Visit during T. rex week to see an all-new T. rex mural being created on site!
Artist Bill Ferguson, illustrator of the HMNS Family Guide, is creating a mural in honor of everyone’s favorite apex predator. Come see the artist finish the mural in the HMNS Grand Hall, Saturday, July 10 – Sunday, July 11, assisted by Sergio Figueroa.
And, join us online on Tuesday, July 13 for a Lunchtime Virtual Lecture with paleontologist Dr. Heinrich Mallison, one of the exhibit creators, to learn about the science and labor of reconstructing Victoria, what’s so special about her, and the reasoning behind the exhibit design.
