DIY IRL – Do it yourself in real life! Explore! Discover! Create! Everything from fossil preparation, butterfly pinning, gardening, chainmaille making, drawing in the galleries, and science-based art.

CSI Houston– Delve into the world of forensics. Learn the techniques crime scene investigators use to collect and examine evidence.

Fantastical Beasts – Animal lovers, these hands-on experiences are for you! Backbone or no, hot or cold-blooded, zero to multi-peds—you will handle creatures great and small.

Cutting Class – Our spring dissections labs focus on amazing organs of mammals. In the fall we focus on full-bodied critters.

Organically Delicious– Get growing in gardening classes with Urban Harvest!

Smart Phone Photography – Create museum-quality images with your phone! Our in-house photographer Michael Rathke will show you how to push the limits with your phone’s camera to create stunning images.

Space Out – Experiences of astronomical proportions, only at HMNS! Embark on a mission to the Moon, prepare for backyard stargazing, and other out-of-this-world learning experiences.

Better Safe… – Learn to stay safe outdoors while getting up close and personal with the toxic creatures and plants in the museum’s collection.

Senior Science – Still curious after all these years? Explore a wide variety of topics with like-minded learners. Coffee provided. Includes admission to a featured exhibition hall.
