Bringing a group to HMNS or HMNS Sugar Land? Explore science, nature and history in our interactive science labs which feature specimens, artifacts and laboratory equipment.
Each lab lasts one hour and accommodates up to 25 students. Labs cost range between $200 and *$250 per lab (for Dissection Lab*) and include admission to the Museum’s Permanent Exhibit Halls for participating students and their chaperones.

- Season’s Greetings (October at HMNS) – Explore the earth’s rotation and orbit and discover how it affects our seasons on Earth!
- Behind the Tides (February at HMNS and February 21st in Sugar Land) – Find out why the tides change throughout the day, and what celestial body is to blame.
- Soil Layers and the Dust Bowl (April at HMNS) – Discover the layers of soil beneath our feet and see how these layers affected the Dust Bowl in the 1930s.
- Mass Extinction (May at HMNS and May 22nd in Sugar Land) – Dive into a class on mass extinction events to discover some of the biggest exoduses of life and the theories behind them.
