
Bringing a group to HMNS or HMNS Sugar Land? Explore science, nature and history in our interactive science labs which feature specimens, artifacts and laboratory equipment.
Each lab lasts one hour and accommodates up to 25 students. Labs cost range between $20 and *$250 per lab (for Dissection Lab*) and include admission to the Museum’s Permanent Exhibit Halls for participating students and their chaperones.

Whooo’s There? (September at HMNS and September 25th in Sugar Land) – Ever wonder what happens to the indigestible parts when birds swallow food whole? They regurgitate it! Find out what’s on the menu as you deconstruct an owl pellet. Includes dissection.
Mud Puppy Mania (October at HMNS and October 23rd in Sugar Land) – Enter the world of a freshwater predator, the Mud Puppy, and see what makes this salamander unique. Includes dissection.
Seeing Stars (January at HMNS) – Not the kind that twinkle, but the kind that crawl. Dive deep into this class about the starfish and its Echinoderm cousins. Includes starfish dissection.
Waste Not, Want Not (March at HMNS) – From filtration to waste removal, investigate the body fluid balancer, the kidney. Includes mammalian kidney dissection.
