LAB GUIDE

Time Labs

To schedule a lab, please contact reservations@hmns.org

Travel Through History In Time Labs. Bringing a group to HMNS or HMNS Sugar Land? Explore science, nature and history in our interactive science labs which feature specimens, artifacts and laboratory equipment.

Each lab lasts one hour and accommodates up to 25 students. Labs cost range between $200 and *$250 per lab (for Dissection Lab*) and include admission to the Museum’s Permanent Exhibit Halls for participating students and their chaperones.


Time Labs

Maya Empire (October at HMNS) – Discover the Continent’s longest-lived indigenous civilization and some of their enduring contributions

Aztec (November at HMNS) – Meet the Mesoamericans who lived in what is now Mexico City and the surrounding territory beginning in the 14th century

Byzantine Empire (December at HMNS) – The western half of the Roman Empire crumbled in the 5th century, the eastern half survived for 1,000 more years, spanning a rich tradition of art, literature, and learning.

Castles (January at HMNS) – Explore the basics of medieval castle structure and life inside these amazing fortresses. Then use what you’ve learned to design your own.

Siege Machines (February at HMNS) – Discover the weapons of the “Medieval Arms Race” and make a working model.

Leonardo da Vinci (March at HMNS) – Inventor, artist, architect, genius – Leonardo Da Vinci is the ultimate Renaissance Man. Discover the range of Leonardo’s talents as you try out some challenges of your own.
