The Endurance: Shackleton’s Legendary Antarctic Expedition

This is a closed, past exhibit; it is not available for viewing.

This exhibition documented the dramatic, near-fatal expedition to Antarctica led by Sir Ernest Shackleton in 1914.  After being trapped in pack ice for nine months, the expedition ship, the Endurance, was crushed by ice and sank.  Shackleton led his men back to safety in an epic journey of appalling conditions.

This exhibition was developed by the American Museum of Natural History,  New York.
