2ND SATURDAY Is For Members!
Opening at 8 a.m. for Members only.

On the second Saturday of each month at our main location in Hermann Park, HMNS will open one hour early for members only! See the museum’s permanent exhibitions—always free for members—before the crowds. Get exclusive discounted entry to special exhibitions, and enjoy arts & crafts, touch carts, guided tours, and family programming while you’re here. Also featuring—Kid’s Pass! Bring it back every 2nd Saturday, and your child will receive a small prize!

2ND SATURDAY is always free for Members. Make the most of your Membership and join us for 2ND SATURDAY.

Family programming is an extra 2nd Saturday perk from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. outside the Wortham Giant Screen Theatre. Come back each month for different activity, craft or presentation!

Renewable Energy Presentation: Join us for our Renewable is Doable festival-style presentation!

Round Earth Activity: Experience one of our Investigation Stations, usually reserved for Science Nights!

Earth Day Craft: Pay homage to Earth Day with a fun and eco-friendly craft activity! We will be making solitary bee homes out of single-use materials.

Mother’s Day Cards: Put your fingerprint on a special card for Mother’s Day!

Plant Presentation
: Explore with your senses by studying leaves and flowers with different textures, colors, and fragrances. After you learn about plants, purchase tickets to a showing of Backyard Wilderness: The Wild Around You in the Wortham Giant Screen Theatre!

Ocean Layers Craft
: Join us as we explore the deep sea with a fun craft exploring the layers of the ocean. Continue learning about the ocean by purchasing tickets for a special showing of Great Barrier Reef at 10 a.m. in the Wortham Giant Screen Theatre!

Sound Science Activity: Learn about the science of SOUND and then purchase your ticket to a show in the Burke Baker Planetarium.

Impression Fossil Craft: You might find it humerus to hear that not all fossils are bones! Lots of fossils are impression fossils! Make your own leaf impression fossil out of clay.

Awesome Arachnids Presentation: Try not to bug out this October! Some of our favorite creepy crawlies will be in attendance for our Awesome Arachnids presentation.

Pollinator Ornament Craft: Deck your Christmas tree with the pollinator ornaments you make with us!

Balloon Artist & Tile Painting: Get excited about our amazing balloon artist! Whether it is dinosaurs, mermaids or creatures of the deep, our balloon artist can make it.
