Starry, Starry Kick-off

Friday, Sept. 6, 6:30 – 10 p.m.

Marvel at the night sky from the 7th floor of our parking garage. Our astronomy experts will be there with telescopes aimed at the sky as we view the Moon, Jupiter and Saturn! Also enjoy stellar crafts and a show in the Burke Baker Planetarium. Tickets are $5. Weather dependent.

A Starry-Eyed Weekend | September 7–8

See a show in the Burke Baker Planetarium for half OFF the member price!

On Saturday, explore beyond the stars with free Lunar Landing Tours every hour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (members only; first come, first serve)

Picture Yourself Here | September 14–15

HMNS becomes your playground this weekend! Our interactive exhibit In Focus: A Museum Photographic Experience is half OFF for members—that’s only $2.50. We’ll also be extending Second Saturday activities until 3 p.m. and add face painters, scavenger hunts and giveaways to our typical roster (Saturday only).

All Steamed Up about STEM | September 21–22

Have you survived our special exhibit Death by Natural Causes? Now’s your chance with half OFF the member price all weekend.

On Saturday, mingle with STEM professionals during STEM/NOVA day! Each booth will have a STEM activity or demonstration to get kids of all ages excited about careers in science. We’ll also have paleontology bingo starring our dinosaurs. Join us at 11 and 11:30 a.m. for a complimentary showing of Expedition Reef in the Burke Baker Planetarium (first come, first serve).

Green Thumb | September 28–29

Fly to the Cockrell Butterfly Center for half OFF admission all weekend.

On Saturday, join us at the semiannual plant sale to decorate a planter and cookie, get your face painted and take home a packet of seeds of your own. Try your hand at butterfly bingo for even more prizes!
