2023 Event dates, generously supported by The Stanford and Joan Alexander Family Fund, are:

April 29, 2023: 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
September 30, 2023: 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
December 4, 2023: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

PLEASE NOTE: There is some construction taking place as we prepare a new exhibit hall on the Main Level. There may be a little noise from this, so if you are sensitive to noise, please plan to wear ear defenders or borrow some from us at the Museum Services desk on the Main Level.

Saturday, April 29^th Sensory Friendly Event Details
HMNS offers an early opening event where our exhibits and venues, including the Burke Baker Planetarium* and Giant Screen Theater*, are modified to create a sensory friendly environment for those with sensory sensitivities.

Planetarium Schedule:

9:00 a.m. – Great Planet Adventures
9:30 a.m. – Passport to the Universe
10:00 a.m. – Stars of the Pharaohs

Giant Screen Theater Schedule:

*All listed shows in the Planetarium and Giant Screen Theatre will be sensory-friendly with volume lowered and house lights up. Tickets may be purchased online in advance or at the Box Office the day of your visit.

This year we have a new opportunity for individuals with disabilities and their families to receive free admission to the permanent exhibit halls for the Sensory Friendly Event! To see if you qualify for the new in-person discounts and to book your visit, please email us at accessprogramming@hmns.org or fill out the booking form below. You may also mention free admission at the Box Office on the day of your visit.
