Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing building activities including regular maintenance items, janitorial schedule, daily security shutdown and evening building events. Successful candidate must be a multi-tasking, proactive, self-confident, self-starter, who can motivate themselves and others to follow through on tasks, and perform a variety of skilled duties.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate work groups such as caterers or contractors during events
- Routinely inspect and evaluate physical plant and related equipment
- Oversee outside contractors relating to evening building and equipment maintenance
- Provide reporting for maintenance, repairs and service
- Supervise building maintenance and security staff
- Daily security and alarm check and lock up of building
- Minor repairs or service to toilets, HVAC units
- Minor carpentry repairs
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Operations management or relevant, equivalent experience
- Experience and/or knowledge of heating and cooling devices, plumbing, roofs, general building infrastructure and equipment to include fire and burglar alarms
- Good customer service skills desired
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
Requirements:
- Able to operate a desk top computer, smart phone, and tablet
- Able to work early mornings and/or evenings and weekends
- Must have a proven track record of reliable punctuality and attendance
- Able to physically lift materials weighing up to 60 pounds
- Able to sit & stand for extended periods of time
- Able to ascend and descend ladders
- Able to handle and work proficiently with common hand and power tools, screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches and hammers
- Able to work independently
- Must have reliable transportation for travel to agencies within system and out
- Able to access and navigate all areas of the facilities
- Able to access all parts of the company equipment
- Must comply with the museum’s COVID-19 protocols
