Teens & High School Opportunities

The Houston Museum of Natural Science is committed to increasing access and expanding programming targeted to teens and young adults. We’re looking for a group of creative teens with diverse backgrounds and interests, excited to share their ideas and skills with the museum.  This group will comprise the Teen Advisory Council (TAC).

In the first year, the TAC will gather information on how to best serve area teens at the museum, plan teen-specific events for the future, contribute to the museum’s social media, generate ideas for helping teens further their academic and professional interests and demonstrate to teens the importance of science, volunteering and non-profit institutions in the community.

During the 2021 application period, teens can apply to be on the TAC for a one-year or two-year commitment, with the term beginning Fall 2021. Upon the successful completion of each semester of participation (in December and in May), Council members will be provided a $250 stipend to help offset any expenses incurred as a result of participation.

Application available: May 18, 2021 .  If you are interested in receiving an application by email, please fill out this form. Your parent or guardian will be copied on the return email.
