From selecting a theme and deciding on décor, to securing activities and entertainment—we’ve got you covered. Our parties are intended to match your budding scientist’s interests with age-appropriate activities. We know that science and fun are for everyone, so we want to make sure you get to spend your special day in our favorite place: HMNS!
Scouts
Scouting provides boys and girls self-confidence, ethics and values that will stay with them throughout their lives.
The HMNS Scouting Program offers badge classes for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, as well as enrichment field trips and events at HMNS facilities in Hermann Park, Sugar Land and Brazos Bend State Park, home of the George Observatory. Classes take place on Saturdays during the school year and in week-long day camps during the summer.
HMNS After Dark
Have you ever wondered what really happens after dark or overnight at the museum?
Find out what happens at the museum after the sun goes down! Enjoy a fun-filled evening with hands-on activities and scavenger hunts before settling down to sleep among the exhibits.
Rent the Museum
Create the ideal environment to fit any event from 20 to 5,000 guests. From sophisticated and dramatic to out of this world, our distinctive venues offer beautiful settings beyond compare.

Member Event: Yoga Night
Reset and recharge by joining us for a one-hour yoga session with instructor Auhona Hoq, during September Member Appreciation. You’ll be sure to leave this class feeling reenergized, especially with the Wiess Energy Hall as your backdrop while you’re holding your locust pose. *This class is suitable for all levels of yogis, including beginner *Yoga mats are not provided
Get Tickets Member Event: To Tea or Not to Tea? What a Silly Question That is!
While our flowers can’t sing and our butterflies aren’t made of butter, you’re still sure to enjoy this mommy (or daddy!) and me tea and etiquette party. Spend the afternoon sipping tea that will make your mouth water, and enjoy one, two or three sweets so delicious they’ll have you bouncing in your seats. But don’t delay, because as Melodie School of Etiquette Melodie Wade will teach you, it’s not proper to be late for a very important date!
