Inclement Weather Policy

In the event of inclement weather, we will announce camp closure as quickly as possible. Updated information will be available on our camp hotline at 713-639-4652, and released on social media.
If camp is closed due to inclement weather there will be no refunds or exchanges.

For your child’s safety all campers MUST be escorted to and from their camp room by a parent or guardian and signed in and out EVERY DAY.

While we realize that leaving your contact information each day may not always be convenient, in the event of an emergency we wish to have the most accurate contact information for you.

Health & Safety

HMNS Education Department Statement Regarding the Use of Masks During Programming

The masking policy is determined using the CDC COVID-19 Community Levels protocols. At this time, both Harris and Fort Bend Counties have reached and maintained the “Low” level status for a period time sufficient to revise the masking policy. Masks are no longer required for staff and volunteers when delivering HMNS programming involving children.

The health and safety of our patrons is always our first priority. The CDC recommends that unvaccinated individuals, those at high risk for severe illness and persons potentially exposed to Covid-19 continue to wear a mask. HMNS Education staff understand that conditions surrounding COVID-19 may change and this policy may need to be amended in the future.

Summer Camp Accessibility

We are happy to accommodate children with disabilities and special needs. Please notify the Summer Camp Director of your child’s disabilities and special needs PRIOR to your child’s first day in the program.
If you have a camper who may need assistance to complete activities, a parent or caregiver should expect to stay in the room to assist. The individual that accompanies the camper must pass a background check.  Please contact the Summer Camp Director at 713-639-4651 to discuss any special needs to help your child be successful at the museum.
