Journey Through Texas
Exploring the State’s Geology and Landscapes on a Model Railroad Adventure
Create holiday memories by travelling across Texas by model railroad in this scratch built “O” scale model. The multiple trains crisscrossing the state will visit important and unique places in the state’s geology and physiography. Destinations include oil country salt domes, prairies and wetlands of the Texas coast and state and national monuments. Along the routes to these geologic wonders the trains will also pass through Galveston, Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, and San Antonio with other surprises along the route.
Please Note:
Trains Over Texas is on display in the Alfred C. Glassell, Jr. Hall and is included with a permanent exhibit ticket.
Admission price includes access to all HMNS Permanent Exhibit Halls except certain Special Exhibitions and the Brown Hall of Entomology. Access to the Brown Hall of Entomology is included with admission to the Cockrell Butterfly Center.
Admission to the Permanent Exhibits is FREE Tuesday evenings from 5:00-8:00 pm.
