Science on Stage

Explore exciting scientific phenomena through interactive demonstrations focused on chemistry, energy, and physics. Participants will have the opportunity to witness amazing experiments while learning about key concepts in physical science through engaging, hands-on presentations.

Pricing

  • Two Presentations $425 | 2 back-to-back presentations (45 minutes per presentation)
  • Additional Presentation $150 | A second presentation on the same topic


Details and Restrictions

  • Capacity: Maximum of 250 participants per presentation
  • Ages: 7 to Adult
  • School: Presentations are tailored to grade-specific TEKS objectives. Before and After presentation curriculum available for each Program.
  • Mileage fee: There is a mileage fee for locations more than 20 miles from the Museum.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Requires access to water and electrical outlets
    • Indoor space preferred for chemistry demonstrations

A Reservation Coordinator will contact you within 3-5 business days to complete your booking request. The reservations office hours are Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. excluding holidays. *Note: All Programs require a 3 week notice. Inquiries made within a 3 week time period may not be fulfilled.

Discover Our Programs

We offer three separate Science on Stage programs, each with a different emphasis.

Motion Commotion

Bring Newton’s laws of motion to life with interactive demonstrations. Try out levers, see action and reaction in real time, and explore mass and inertia through engaging experiments. Our mobile physics demos travel to you, inviting groups to explore momentum, friction, and collisions. Watch glider carts on an air track reveal how movement changes under different conditions. Discover the excitement of physics in action and see how science explains the world around us.

This program is best aligned with 3rd through 8th grade curriculum.

Exploring Energy

Explore the fascinating science of energy transformations with engaging demonstrations of electricity, sound, and light. Participants will investigate different forms of energy, observe how they are generated, and discover their effects on matter through interactive activities.  Audiences will witness how electrical circuits function, learn how instruments create various pitches, and uncover the secrets behind glow sticks—all in one dynamic presentation.

This program is best aligned with 2nd through 6th grade curriculum.

Cool Chemistry

Experience the excitement of chemistry with explosive demonstrations of combustion, color changes, polymers, and liquid nitrogen. Witness amazing reactions, see byproducts form, and discover the many ways chemistry shapes our daily lives—from colorful fireworks to absorbent diapers. Audiences will enjoy stoplight reactions, explore lycopodium’s unique properties, and more. Chemistry comes to you! (Note: Dry ice may be substituted for liquid nitrogen depending on availability.)
