HMNS Farmers Market
The Braeswood Farmers Market will be setting up shop on the Museum Sundial Plaza on June 22 from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Free to attend and get 20% off any membership level when you purchase from the HMNS plant sale table or one of the vendors.

Join HMNS astronomers for a guided tour of the night sky highlights and seasonal celebrations.
Tuesday Rooftop Astronomy Upcoming Dates:

- July 8, 7-9 p.m. – Sun and Moon in Twilight

Mind Over Matter
Energize your body and mind each week with a dynamic workout session set among our incredible exhibits! From Yoga and Zumba to Pilates and more, each class blends movement with science, exploring the biomechanics behind every stretch, squat, and step.
After your workout, cool down with a refreshing juice and lap around the highlighted exhibit of the night, where you’ll uncover the science of strength, endurance, and evolution.
Whether you’re coming solo or with friends, this is the perfect place to connect with fellow fitness and science lovers all summer long.

HMNS Sensory Friendly Events
Three times a year, HMNS offers Sensory Friendly events where exhibits and venues are modified for those with sensory sensitivities. Exhibits and venues are modified to create a sensory neutral environment. The Burke Baker Planetarium and Wortham Giant Screen Theatre also offer modified 2D shows with house lights on and the volume reduced. Sensory Backpacks, which include ear defenders, sunglasses, and fidgets, are available to check out with an ID at the Museum Services Desk, and Touch Carts with tactile specimens to explore will be available throughout the museum’s permanent exhibit halls. June is all about T. rex Week—and what better way to end it with a bang than at our Member Second Saturday? Join us for a dino-mite morning as you explore the Morian Hall of Paleontology before the crowds roll in! Chat with our knowledgeable volunteers and ask all your burning dinosaur questions—no fossil fact is too big or small.
Need a break from roaming with the giants? Stop by our craft station and create your very own dinosaur… out of a paper plate!

Second Saturday: Shark Week

End your Shark Week celebration by joining us early for Second Saturday, an exclusive perk for HMNS Members! Enjoy a peaceful morning exploring the museum before the crowds arrive, giving you time to take it all in at your own pace.
Visit our amazing volunteers in the Malacology Hall to learn about the vital role shells play in our ecosystems, and explore our fascinating, curated collection. Then, head over to Glassell Hall to create your very own shark face craft beneath our stunning aquatic life exhibit.

Sugar Land World Trekkers
Andiamo: Let's go! Immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of Italy without needing to catch a flight during this upcoming World Trekkers, featuring our newest special exhibit, Ciao Bambini!
Get creative with a fun, hands-on pizza craft, and immerse yourself in the sounds of live Italian music. And don’t forget to enjoy a little taste of Italy by snacking on delicious cannolis generously provided by HEB – Riverpark. It’s a night full of culture, flavor, and fun for the whole family – don’t miss out!
