Our new partnership with Sodexo, the premier provider to cultural destinations and event venues around the world and in the U.S., is officially underway! Welcome to an entirely different dining experience at the Museum with fresh, healthy culinary options made from local ingredients with a focus on sustainability.
Our dining program is called The Science of Food, and features several new locations, some temporary as construction continues a new café and others will become fixtures in the Museum landscape:
The Food Lab:
HMNS is excited to welcome the Food Lab, our very own custom-designed food truck which will call the sun dial plaza home. The Food Lab will feature a seasonal, approachable menu that will revolve as the kitchen scientists invent new and interesting menus.
And don’t forget to take a selfie with the science themed science wall found on the back of the truck. #hmns
While the new café marketplace, Periodic Table, is under construction, Sodexo will serve snacks, salads and drinks from their pop-up concept, The Fuel Stop with two locations in the Grand Entry Hall.
A temporary concept takes residence in the old McDonalds space called Chrysalis Café. Here guests can get a burger, fries, drinks, salads, sandwiches and snacks. Chrysalis Café will transform into a new concept after the new marketplace opens.
Periodic Table—coming soon!
Periodic Table: A brand new marketplace-style dining concept located next to the Cockrell Butterfly Center will serve paninis, salads, espresso-based coffees, snacks, sweets and more!
The Grill—coming soon!
Once Periodic Table opens, Chrysalis Café will begin its transformation into a new concept supported by self-order kiosks and online ordering.
School and Camp Meals
School and camp meals can be ordered online, by completing an order form, or by calling the office.
Please note: Food and beverages are not allowed inside the Museum exhibit halls or theaters.
The Museum District offers several dining options within walking distance or a short drive of the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
