2023/2024 Moran Teen Advisory Council
Committed to increasing access and expanding programming targeted to teens and young adults.
The inaugural Moran Teen Advisory Council (TAC) works to best serve teens by planning teen-specific events, contribute to social media, generate ideas for furthering academic and professional interests, volunteering, and demonstrating the importance of science.
General Requirements
- Be between the ages of 14 and 19 and be in 9th to 11th grade
- Live in the greater Houston Metropolitan area (Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery and Waller counties)
- Commit to two-year term on the HMNS Moran Teen Advisory Council
- Commit to attend monthly TAC Meetings – both virtual and in-person, and additional dates for TAC-planned special events
- Contribute to the group
- Have the consent of a parent/guardian to participate this program

Inspiring Lifelong Learning and Interdisciplinary Skills through Simulated Space Expeditions
The Expedition Center offers an engaging learning experience that transforms students into scientists, engineers, or researchers during simulated space expeditions. It expands the classroom to distant planets, inspiring students to become explorers. Our focus extends beyond space science, using the excitement of space travel to develop interdisciplinary skills and life lessons that have a lasting impact.
